Did the PCB ban Akhtar because he refused to pay them a share of his IPL bounty? Is this all about the cash now? If you believe the speedster, you will think so...

This PCB versus Shoaib issue, though i don’t want to sound hilarious or a bit mad, is getting hotter each passing day. Shoaib being on the receiving end is incessantly being bullied by the cricket authority. Its pretty evident that Shoaib should not expect any alteration in the judgment pronounced here onwards. Now, the doors for any sort of comeback are closed for him. Try your luck elsewhere, mate.

His participation in the much hyped IPL has also come under the cloud. IPL has made its stand clear that Shoaib won’t be allowed to play in the League unless PCB Cleares him. PCB on the other hand has made clear that he can play in the IPL irrespective the Ban. The Rawalpindi Express really seems to be running out of firepower.

It seems to be common opinion now that Akhtar has finally put the last nail in his own coffin. I suppose this is the last time he will ever even aspire to take field again, as one sees no way from here on in for him to make a comeback. By going against the board and throwing such serious allegations at the PCB, he has lost all hope of even winning a legal case. He should have kept his mouth shut and face away from media. But you never know, Pakistan is a crazy place and you never know if the new government could throw out the board and reinstate him.

Shoaib Akhtar’s fame seems to have gone to his head. There is no doubt that he is ’box office’. He is the one who can fill up stadiums, send pulses racing, bring in the moolah. This is the reason why everyone from the IPL to ICL wants him. They know that he is a crowd puller. The problem is Shoaib too knows this. But he is trying to take unfair advantage of his fame. He wants the board to treat him differently from all his colleagues. This is the reason the board has rightly said , ’enough is enough’. But you never know what would happen with cricket teams in the subcontinent. Tomorrow he may replace his namesake and be made the captain!!

You are right about the fact that we never know what might happen in the sub-continent. Many seem to be supportive of him, yet in the last 1 week, many have also have expressed that they feel stardom has got to his head. So you do not stand alone in that regard. Irrespective of the reasons, I just wish he learned how to keep his mouth shut and let a lawyer do the talking for him.
He is talking his career to death...

I don’t understand why all of here are questioning Shoiab Akthar all the time. Maybe the accusations Shoaib Akthar made against the PCB are true. Maybe. Shutting the door on Shoaib just because he has had a long history of run-ins with disciplinary issues. So, a fair hearing is what Shoaib deserves. And there is a great book called ”The Innocent man” by John Grisham worth reading by all.

ell, I guess that proves that in this world ’Past Reputation’ counts. I have told this before and even just now, i do not know who is telling the truth, but he needs to let his lawyer talk. The guy talks too much and we all know legal cases cannot be won like that. I hope he gets a fair trial, but it is highly unlikely at this point and that is why we feel bad for the guy. Making allegations won’t help him at this point, legal advice will.

Yeah, legal help will certainly help but his reputation in the past alone cannot be held against him all the time. And the Cricket boards in the sub continent are also very notorious for their corrupt practices. So im not too surprised at Shoaib’s allegations.
