China has never shown any sensitivity towards environmental issues. If they have shown some concern of late that is because of the olympics.

That has been indeed a major complaint from the rest of the world and no matter what China does today is going to be viewed as a put-on show for the world because of the Olympics. But as we always say, irrespective of the primary motive, as long as the environment is getting cleaner, we are happy. Let us hope it happens somehow.

It is high time that China stops its Global expansion plan and starts to see what toll its strategies are taking on its own grounds. China should start thinking of multitasking and stop concentrating only on financial gains eg. Olympics

It has become almost an universal opinion off late that China is out there just to make financial gains and to really please the world by showing something that is actually not with the games at Beijing. Recent stories about products from China just add to the same perception. Hopefully they will find a way to clean themselves up.
