It is aerated in such a fashion that most of the gases (and that means smell) go out from the pores underneath and so if you happen to keep t in your balcony or garden, it will not really create great prob as it dissipates these gases faster than the ordinary ones.
But I won’t lie to you. There will be a bit of smell and a few tiny little insect visitors. It is just natural and So this is probably best for a garden!
